LITTLE RAS-KEL'S
"WE LEARN AND PLAY ALL DAY"
Community Supporters,
Hello, my name is Brooke Johnson. I moved into Monticello in 1990 when I was in third grade. I graduated from Twin Lakes High School in 1998 with the dream of someday having a home daycare so that I could have a positive influence on children, contribute to my household, and remain the primary care provider for my own children; little did I know that I would end up a single mother of three. As my dream has become reality I am happy to say I currently own four licensed childcare homes and a licensed center. I am trying to set the bar high in regards to childcare in the Monticello community and provide a high quality of care and education backed by principals of faith. Both of my licensed locations are participating in Paths to Quality. Paths to Quality is a recognition program that recognizes a licensed childcare facility for the level of service they provide. We are currently working towards accreditation, or level four, which is the highest level possible to obtain.
As a small business there are financial struggles in trying to provide a quality service at an affordable price. I am reaching out to my community in hopes to receive some support in our growing endeavors. It is our goal to become accredited at both locations.
I am personally committed to helping my staff achieve professional growth as well. I currently require 20 hours of yearly training and strongly recommend continued education in the field. I offer the T.E.A.C.H scholarship and commit to paying a portion of my employees' tuition.
As everyone knows, with growth comes expense. I currently have several children on a waiting list to receive help paying for childcare. I currently allow these parents to make partial payment in hopes that when they get the assistance I will get what is owed to me. For the most part, these parents are really trying to make a better life for themselves and their children. I would love to start a scholarship fund for these families in need. I am reaching out to the community hoping to receive support in reaching my goals. Our community is in need of change and I believe this change starts with the children and their families. If you would like to ask questions feel free to reach me using any method provided below so we could discuss your questions or comments further, or to set up a meeting to address your questions or comments.
Please consider helping us grow and maintain quality care and educational structure for the children of our community. They are our future and deserve the best! I thank you in advance for your time and support. Remember……it takes a village; together we can make a difference.
Thank you again,
